A collection of translated stories originally published in several other collections. Perhaps the best known one of the lot is "Inem" a sad tale of an eight year old bride. "Acceptance" - one of the stories set in the Javanese town of Blora - depicts the dehumanising effects of Indonesian turbulent history on a small-town community.
