Throughout the years, I have actively supported the Gothic and Horror scholarly community by serving on the International Editorial Boards of various journals and book series within the field. Currently, I am a Board member for the following publications.
Gothic Studies
Gothic Studies is the journal of the International Gothic Association, and covers the field of Gothic studies from the eighteenth century to the present day, providing an international platform for dialogue and cultural criticism in the sphere of Gothic from within every period and media form.
Horror Studies
Horror Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to the rigorous study of horror in all its manifold cultural and historical forms. With a strong interdisciplinary focus, the journal seeks to publish high-quality articles and reviews on topics relevant to the study of horror across a range of disciplines.
Journal of Vampire Studies
First published in 2020, Journal of Vampire Studies is the official journal of the Vampire Studies Association devoted to establishing vampire studies as a multidisciplinary field and contributing to vampire scholarship.
Anthem Studies in Gothic Literature
Anthem Studies in Gothic Literature incorporates a broad range of titles that undertake rigorous, multi-disciplinary and original scholarship in the domain of Gothic Studies and respond, where possible, to existing classroom/module needs. The series aims to foster innovative international scholarship that interrogates established ideas in this rapidly growing field, to broaden critical and theoretical discussion among scholars and students, and to enhance the nature and availability of existing scholarly resources.
Cambridge Elements: The Gothic
A distinct series within the Cambridge Elements project, Elements in the Gothic is committed to publishing cutting-edge, scholarly studies of the Gothic mode across its many interdisciplinary forms and historical manifestations. The series series seeks to publish short, research-led yet accessible studies of the foundational or core ‘elements’ within the capacious field of Gothic Studies. While intervening in this way in a number of long-standing critical debates, the series also makes provision for the showcasing of new and emergent lines of scholarly enquiry, bringing to a range of specialist and non-specialist readers some of the most exciting developments in recent Gothic scholarship.
Hidden Horror Histories
The series places particular emphasis on aspects of the genre, its history, and its creative personnel which have not been covered extensively in scholarship to date. Hidden Horror Histories aims to expand the scope of horror scholarship by bringing new genre histories to light in the context of developments in the screen industries. Books contracted for the series to date include a monograph on women creatives in TV horror, a collection on Nigel Kneale’s screen horror work, a study of Australian horror cinema, and a title culturally reframing teen horror.
