This page contains links to my Asian horror film lists on Letterboxd, organized by countries of production. Please note that these countries differ significantly in their output of horror productions, so some lists include only a few titles. These lists are a continuous work in progress—they mostly reflect the films I have seen, along with a few early productions I know about but have not yet managed to watch. It is not always easy to obtain copies of older films. I will continue adding films to my lists and, who knows, maybe one day I will have enough time to start writing reviews.
The order of the countries on this page reflects my research interests. So far, I have written more extensively about films from the first eight countries listed below, with occasional mentions of those from the remaining ones.
It is also worth noting that the lists include both horror and horror-adjacent films, such as horror comedies, ghost romances, horror animation, gore, and violent action films, as these are all relevant to my work. Much of Asian horror is also inherently hybrid, which sets it apart from Western horror films.
